I had one of those battery operated/do it by itself can openers, which is fine for some cans, but cannot deal with small cans like tomato paste properly. I would always end up using a can opener and wasting most of the product. Looking at Amazon's selection I saw that this one had good reviews, so I took a chance. It is well made/solid, easy to use (does not take much strength), and leaves non-cutting edges. And it works great on tomato paste cans !! You can't go wrong with this product if your looking for a manual can opener.Customer Review: Perfect for Heiny pots!

I bought this can opener solely for the purpose to take the lid off of a Heineken 24 oz can for a light weight backpacking cooking pot. You don't even need to modify the can opener in order for it to fit on the pot! cuts awesome works like a charm. Feels kind of cheaply made but be careful with her and she'll treat ya good.
I also took a dremel tool and a rough sand paper attachment and sanded it down so it can fit on all regular can items now. ( pepsi, energy drinks, coke, etc)

This is one of THE most amazing household devices in the world, period. Worth every penny. I like it because it cleanly opens a can lid from the side, without ANY shards or sharp edges being created. I used to actually fear that I would eat an unseen shard or speck of metal whenever I used my conventional hand can opener. No more fears with this device, and no fears of ever getting cut by a sharp can lid. Kudos to the person who invented it! I bought a can opener, it was a different brand, but like this one several years ago. Year before last it broke. I have been searching for one like this since then. I don't like the ones that cut under the seamed edge, being that the can still has a sharp edge to it. This one cuts into the seamed edge and its totally safe, NO sharp edges at all. I am ordering 2 more to have on hand so I dont have to search again for it. I am happy and pleased to have found this can opener.Customer Review: It's hard to believe how well this product works!

The whole family was amazed how easily and efficiently this device opens cans. None of us want to use the electric opener again. While you crank the key, which takes no effort, you are sure it's not working until you get all the way around and the lid just comes off. No sharp edges, nice and clean. We've been using it about a month now and the results are always consistent. The only thing that remains is to see is how long it will keep working this good.
