I bought this wine opener to replace a regular corkscrew and I'll never go back. This tool is incredibly easy to use, from removing the foil to lifting the cork from the bottle to releasing the cork from the opener. In addition to its ease of use, this wine opener is also a fun tool. I bought a second wine opener as a gift, and I'll continue to give these as gifts - they're great!Customer Review: Almost Magic - Highly Recommended

I was given the "MIU Connoisseur Corkscrew" as a Christmas gift two years ago. Since then, we have used it several times a month (I drink a glass of red wine every day, medicinally of course :-) with the same great results every time.
The device is well made and easy to use, if/when it happens to break I will replace it with another.
Highly recommended!

Some of these don't work all that well, or get cranky after a while--this one operates smoothly and holds up. If you've never owned one of these, you have no idea how simple opening wine bottles can be! I bought one for my 88-year old mother who is not able to use other types easily (I know, how much wine is she drinking?)and she is happily popping corks again. I bought this January 2006, and it's still going strong. We got one in 2003, and it broke for some reason, I can't remember, so I replaced it with this one. It's so easy, it opens and removes the cork in 2 motions that take 3 seconds. Like the one star review, I too have an engineering degree. I'm not sure how that pertains to reviewing a bottle opener, but to each his own!Customer Review: Does the job and the price was right

The expensive well-known similar looking corkscrew broke in under 2yrs. This one works great and I actually find it easier to use. Barely any effort needed to pull the cork out.
Seems to be well made. A better product then I expected for the price. Kind of makes me wonder how some of the others can charge $80+ for their models.
