This was purchased to replace a 12" magnetic bar, which was getting dangerously crowded. I am really pleased and impressed; the bar is made almost entirely of steel (from the pictures I thought some parts might be plastic). Front surface is polished, frame is satin, if this matters any. If you're drilling into drywall, don't even think of skipping the wall anchors (included) - this bar is HEAVY. It fits all my knives, a Microplane grater, scissors and honing steel, with just a little room to spare. I didn't see any instructions, but it's not difficult to figure out - 2 plastic pieces on the ends hide screw holes and can be removed to insert screws, then replaced afterward. The price is very reasonable for the quality; I saw a Global knife magnet selling for $175 - now that's outrageous! Excellent quality. I bought two so I could get rid of the large knife block that was taking up valuable counter space.
Very easy to install. At each end are black plastic half-moon-shaped inserts. They slide out easily to reveal a bracket underneath. Two screws & plastic wallboard inserts are included. All I needed to install was a Phillips screwdriver, a nail, and a hammer. Was too lazy to get the drill out so I just hammered a nail into the wall. Nail was slightly smaller than the diameter of the plastic insert. Pull out the nail, push the insert in, screw in the holder, then slide the black plastic half-moons back in to cover up the brackets/screws and the little mess I made of the wallpaper there. Easy, strong, and secure.
And it looks cool. Shiny stainless, very contemporary design.

This is by far one of the most functional and beautiful items in my kitchen. I don't have a lot of counter space, so was looking for an alternative to a knife block. Keeping knives in the drawer is a bad option, as not only it dulls and scratches these precious tools, but also a hazard for roaming hands.
This magnetic strip is a perfect solution. It's of very high quality, but the only drawback it has is that steel furnish is rather thin and very glossy, so after some use scratches on surface will become more-less noticeable. But having said that, it's great still! Magnets are very strong, mounting the strip was easy and simple, and it's very durable and reliable.
A welcome addition to my kitchen that brings me joy in looks and function every day. A must have!

I have wanted this wall-mounted knife holder since the late 70's when "Julia Child" was doing her cooking shows on my local PBS. I could always see the "knife holder" in the background of her kitchen on the wall and wanted one immediately! Well, I've waited many "years" since then to find one and finally took the plunge! It works WONDERFULLY and holds my most favorite knives! It's GREAT to have a place to store my knives where they are in easy reach for use and yet out-of-the-way when not being used. It's also a good way to store knives so you don't get "cut" when rumaging around in a kitchen drawer; it also keeps your knives from getting "nicked" and "scratched". Just a SUPERIOR PRODUCT! This is THE knife holder to own. I had another magnetic knife holder but it wasn't large enough to hold the knives and tools I use most often. I picked it because I could paint the wood to match my kitchen. Because of it's stainless steel finish, this MIU holder will also work with ANY decore and "this" MIU Stainless-Steel Magnetic Knife Holder IS large enough to do the job AND leave enough room between knives that it is safe to use!
I have a relatively small kitchen, but still had enough room that this size works very well.
I couldn't be more pleased! It's also very well worth the price.
