This is indeed a solid spatula for the money. It would be great for outdoor grill use. While it is not ideal for use with a smaller frying pan, that is not why we own these ~ and we do own two of them in this particular size. I also plan on purchasing others in a smaller size and am also considering acquiring several of the slotted ones as well.
The CONS are:

>>> and my husband pointed out to me that they are stainless PLATED ~ even though they do have a good deal of "heft" to them. However one quickly developed a dark "wear spot" which does not come of with scrubbing and this is a sure tell-tale sign of plating, no matter how high a quality of plating is used.
Those are the two reasons why I marked it down to 4 stars as I feel MIU is mis-leading with the "France" labeling (even though they may have been "designed" in France) and that they are indeed NOT solid stainless steel. If they were solid stainless steel, we would not have the black spot on the bottom of one, you would be able to remove that with a scouring pad fairly easily.
Still, do not be afraid to purchase one of these. They have very little flexibility so if you want one you can "bend" (as one reviewer tried to do) just get one in a smaller size. They are used a good deal in our kitchen and we are looking forward to using them on the outdoor grill when the weather gets warmer. In the meantime, they are substantial enough that two of them will lift an entire roast turkey out of a pan onto a serving plate. They are also ideal for pizza, lasagna and a host of other foods and do have a very fine sharp edge (ideal for Phiily Steaks, etc.). I own other MIU products and again, plan to purchase more in the future.
Amazon got them here ahead of the estimated delivery date, as usual ~ although I have since suggested to Amazon that they wrap them in brown paper or something similar as they are not wrapped at all, just set in the box with other items and the bubble bags Amazon uses. The other items I ordered had their own manufacturer's boxes, so this was not an issue with this shipment. However if I had ordered one of these with say, books, there was potential for damage there. If I order any more, I will definitely be conscious of what items I am ordering them with so as not to have the other items scratched or torn in shipment. Still in all, we are happy with our purchase and our Amazon experience.
