I had been fighting a similar peppermill from Penny's for a couple of years, cursing it every time I used it. The ceramic grinders weren't worth a hoot, and from the get go, I had to tape the bottom on. Then one day, I pushed the button and the whole unit fell out of the housing into my CHILI!!!!
So, I taped that part on, as well as putting a rubber band around the batteries to keep them in, and started looking for a replacement to save my sanity. I saw this one at a VERY good price at the Warehouse, noted it was stainless, not plastic, and had a metal grinding mechanism... The six batteries was a momentary turn off, but, hey, maybe it would work better...
I took the plunge, loaded it with 6 rechargeable 3As, and now smile every time I use it! It grinds flawlessly, lights every time, and, the kicker....
NO tape needed!

The product is great, but you have to be VERY careful before ordering, so you get the right thing.
The words "SALT/PEPPER MILL" are used -- which leads one to think the mill can be used for either. Not so. The grinder for pepper is made of metal (which rusts if it gets moist) while the one for salt is made of ceramic (which doesn't rust).
The instructions which came with the mill I ordered are very specific: Don't use it for salt. That should have been clearly stated in the website write-up. I could have sent it back and lost the cost of shipping (plus paying an additional $15 plus shipping for the salt mill). Instead, I chose to send it to my son, since I already had a pepper mill and he didn't.
I was willing to pay $35 for a grinder that would work (so I thought) with either salt or pepper -- but not $50+ for one that is for salt.
Caveat emptor!

Several years ago I bought an electric peppermill with a light and loved it. It is extremely handy when cooking and the light is a convenient feature when lights are low or eyesight is not so good! The first one I bought broke within 6 months. I was very disappointed, because I enjoyed using it. I replaced it and that one broke as well within a year. When I found this manufacturer I decided to try it. The quality is much, much better than other manufacturers. I studied the mechanisms of the other ones so I could compare the quality. I've had this one for over a year with no problems. Whether it's dinner parties or family meals, everyone loves to use it. This year I bought a few of them for Christmas gifts and delighted my friends and family!Customer Review: Grind it! Don't Bump it!

I only asked for two things this past Christmas: An Electric Peppermill and a pair of house slippers. When I got neither, I ordered the MIU France Electric Peppermill from Amazon.com. The peppermill is everything I expected, as was the Amazon.com service. The peppermil grinds peppercorns from coarse to fine - you choose! I use whole peppercorns in a variety of colors. I experimented putting whole cloves in the mix, but it gummed up the grinder. Stick with peppercorns only. It's really spiced up my life. Kudos to Amazon.com for free shipping which had my MIU France Electric Peppermill delivered within four days! Next year, I'm only gonna ask for world peace. My husband for his birthday asked for an electric peppermill. The first place I came to shop was amazon.com. As I looked at all of the selections I came across the MIU Electric Peppermill. This is a wonderful product and both my husband and I enjoy using it. It is sleek, easy to use and looks great on your kitchen counter. It crushes the peppercorns easily and there is a built in light as you are placing the seasonings over your food. You cannot go wrong with this product. As always amazon.com provides great products and very fast processing. I received this item even earlier than what was estimated. Bon Appetite!
