Customer Review: Works, but that's about all you can say for it

I guess you get what you pay for. It works in that it reads the temperature, but it's hard to get it clipped on properly so that the tip doesn't touch the bottom of the pan, and it steams up inside so that it's hard to read. The glass also seems pretty thin, though I haven't had it break on me. If you're just getting into candy making, go for it. If you think you'll use a candy thermometer more than a few times, get something else. I've used mine 3 or 4 times now and I'm already looking at replacing it with something nicer.
