This stainless steel knife holder mounts easily on any flat surface (presumably the kitchen wall). There are mountiing holes in either end of the holder, and you would either use wall anchors in wall board or screw directly into a wooden backing. The holder is faily heavy-grade magnetic stainless steel. I was not disappointed; would buy again.Customer Review: Excellent knife holder

This is by far one of the most functional and beautiful items in my kitchen. I don't have a lot of counter space, so was looking for an alternative to a knife block. Keeping knives in the drawer is a bad option, as not only it dulls and scratches these precious tools, but also a hazard for roaming hands.
This magnetic strip is a perfect solution. It's of very high quality, but the only drawback it has is that steel furnish is rather thin and very glossy, so after some use scratches on surface will become more-less noticeable. But having said that, it's great still! Magnets are very strong, mounting the strip was easy and simple, and it's very durable and reliable.
A welcome addition to my kitchen that brings me joy in looks and function every day. A must have!
