I wonder whether the glass in this series of products is borosilicate glass, which is more common in Europe than the U.S. It's a kind of glass that is less dense and much more resistant to damage from temperature changes. That could explain why it doesn't really feel as heavy as glass and has different seams in the jars than we're accustomed to. See [...] for a description.Customer Review: Good Size!

Perfect size/shape to store in the 'fridge door. Heavy duty glass keeps beverages cool. One thing to improve would be to somehow put a protective cover onto the side "handle" so that it can be easily be picked up when filled with hot liquid. You either have to wait for the liquid/bottle to cool or use a mitt which can be slippery.Customer Review: Great Pitcher, including lid?

I like this container, but I like the 57 oz version better with the external handle better, as it's easier to hold. The hard plastic cap rotates freely, and allows pouring without removal. This cap doesn't provide an air-tight seal (the cap will leak if you need to shake the contents). Other than that, highly rated!Customer Review: made in france, great product but...

these are great in the door liquid containers, they are made in france and are very useful. I bought these to complement my other Luminarc products. the only down side is the lids. my old ones have a more substantial lid. these are thin and feel flimsy by comparison.Customer Review: compact jug for lemonade

You need at least one 64 ounce pitcher to make lemonade, the normal 1 quart or 1.5 quart and are not big enough to hold a full batch of frozen lemonade. This fits the bill nicely, and is easy to handle and pours well. It is a nice weight as well for a glass item
