Customer Review: Decent pitcher, but spout is an issue

This is a decent, reasonably made glass pitcher (really, it's glass). I've made teas in it using boiling or very hot water, depending on the tea, and it's been fine. I can't say I don't worry about putting hot water in it though! Quality is just not what it used to be these days across the board.
I only gave it 4 stars because, as other reviewers have mentioned, it has an awkward spout that can lead to dripping. It's not just a matter of being careful, you have to be extraordinarily precise to avoid a mess (i.e. hold the glass at a particular angle, tilt pitcher at an angle, hold glass to spout etc). Drippage does go down as the pitcher is less full. By around 3/4 full, it's not such a problem. Also, the problem is not related to the lid. I tried taking the lid off, but the problem persisted.

I saw this here first and then found it at Sur La Table. I bought it there simple since I did not have to wait for it to arrive. I paid $14.99. We use it for orange juice. I have a narrow fridge that would not accomodate a pitcher with a handle. Plus, I wanted glass and not plastic.
My husbands only comment, as he sent orange juice flying into the air, was "The lid does not seal?" That seems to be the only issue we have. I plan on buying another soon since we can then make another flavor of juice at the same time or store some left over smoothie too.
I'd say the lid issue is minor since it does not come in contact with the beverage keeping you the person safe from the plastic yuck. Plus, a simple stir with a spoon and your beverage is ready!

I got 4 more of these because I already had 2 for many years and liked them and I needed more for storing water emptied from the 3-gallon jugs that I get delivered. I was expecting them to be airtight, but the tops are now made of a different material and have a slightly different design, and they are NOT airtight! Therefore, I just use plastic wrap under the lid since otherwise there would be no sealing out of air. Besides, once I start using one container I don't replace the plastic wrap, so it's not that terribly inconvenient. They still work best for me for my purpose, as I prefer to store in glass, and I LOVE the shape for refrigerator storage.Customer Review: Good suntea jar

This is a nice suntea jar. We gave up on the ones with the spigots because they always leak in the first summer of use. This was inexpensive, easy to pour from and fits very nicely in the fridge. We got two of them so we've always got tea brewing. The glass was a little thinner than I expected - I'd have liked a more solid feeling piece, but they've held up through the dishwasher and regular use for about a month so far. I looked a long time for the right jars that could go from outside to the fridge and take up little space. I'd love a 3 liter that was this thin but taller.
Customer Review: Good Product, Deceptive Shipping & Handling Methods

This is a fine jug, better than others I found in local stores.
However, the shipping charge was nearly 80% the cost of the product and, instead of shipping 2 containers together when I ordered them at Amazon, the product was shipped in two separate boxes, each with the heavy "shipping & handling" fee. Thus, suddenly, a relatively price-worthy container (it is, after all, just lightweight glass and a very cheap top) became pretty expensive.
Poor shipping policy, obviously intended to make higher margins on the product.
