I bought this reading light a few months ago. I was a little skeptical initially about how well it would work. I have gone through more Itty Bitty lights than I care to admit to (they are poorly designed junk). After some initial time to get used to using this light, I am generally pleased. Its been the only light that hasn't disturbed my wife's sleep when I use it. I just recently ordered the full size version for hardcover and larger softcover books. I have left the protective plastic sheet over the lucite lense and have not experienced any scratching problems. The batteries do last a while and the light will gradually dim, telling you its time for new batteries. This light is worth trying.Customer Review: Book Light

I bought this Lightwedge for my daughter who is 7. I found out that after I put her to bed, she could not go to sleep right away. She would use a flashlight to do little reading. Well after doing some research this seemed to be the best type of light. It shows right on the page and should be better on the eyes. My only issue is you have to buy to separate sizes. I ordered the paperback size because that is all she is reading but even that size is small because there are different size paperbacks. They should make a retractable light that fits a vary of sizes. But it does do the job!Customer Review: Great Concept, but I could do without the scratches.

This is a great concept, but the plexiglas is slightly cloudy and splotchy in places. It came with some scratches at the bottom that are noticeable when you are reading. Most of the defects are not noticeable when reading, but ... still. Come on, Lightwedge. It's NEW. Clean up your quality control.
However, it is great to be able to read at night without bothering the spouse. I would buy another one, even with the scratches, but I could sure do without them. It is the only drawback to the product.

I decided to purchase the paperback version of this item because I'm an avid reader who travels frequently. I love the design as well as the products ability to illuminate the entire page. Other book lights were either flimsy or cumbersome. Unhappy with how easy it was to scratch, I recently made an additional purchase along with the soft cover which remedied the problem. It's very durable and the batteries seem to last a long time. I would reccomend this item for purchase.Customer Review: Light Wedge could be better

I love how the lightwedge lights up the page, even in the late afternoon when it's not totally dark in the room, but the battery connection is poor. As soon as I move the lightwedge onto the next page the batteries slide inside the compartment and lose the connection. I then have to shade the wedge side to side until it lights up again. This product would be perfect if it had a snugger fit for the batteries.
