This is the best book light I've ever used. It evenly illuminates the entire page without creating much extra light in the room. Perfect for reading in bed or on an airplane when others are sleeping near you. Turn it off, close the book, and it works as a bookmark. Thanks for the great pricing, Amazon. com! It works well, probably better than the other solutions available, but there are some disadvantages: there are 2 LEDs that illuminate the page, and illumination is not perfectly uniform. How could it be? In addition, a faint diffraction pattern resulting in concentric circles or arcs radiating out from the LEDs is visible on the page. Finally, because the "lens" is made of plastic, it accumulates static electricity and hence dust; pages actually stick to my lightwedge.Customer Review: Terrific!

This product lights the page very well but...
It is uncomfortable to hold & inconvenient to move with each page. I have only had mine for a short time, only used it on a few occassions and it is already terribly scratched and even chipped despite my efforts to be careful with it. I have been using book lights for years and this is one of the worst I have ever owned. I will definitely go back to a rechargable clip-on.

I LOVE the light wedge! It will save marriages if one spouse cannot sleep with the light on while the other reads! The light wedge does not shine anywhere other than within the book. It is a great and easy shape to pack as well.
