I keep a lightwedge in the car and find it great during night driving for both map and book reading without disturbing the driver (my wife) or the kids.
The lightwedge is extremely versatile whenever a reading light is needed and might have many uses in the military during night ops or in hurricane evacuation centers after the mandatory 'lights out'.

Whether it's because of a roommate who goes to bed early or long bus rides or car rides at night, I have found the LightWedge to be perfect for academic and leisure reading. This is the best book light EVER. My only issue is the battery life, but I fall asleep and leave it on all night sometimes. The pages are illuminated very well and it's easy to use. Makes a great book mark, too. Don't let what I said about the batteries influence you not to buy. I have both sizes. I am satisfied with this product. I tried to use my standard sized book wedge for paperback books and though it works well it's a little awkward. The paperback wedge is much easier and more comfortable to use with a paperback book. Having gotten some scratches on my larger wedge I strongly recomend getting a cover of some sort for storage.Customer Review: Where have you been all my life?

The lightwedge is awesome. If you've got a spouse that always grumbles to "shut off the light" when you're trying to read, this is the answer. It works much better than those bulb lights that attach to your book and is much easier to use. I've only had mine for a couple months, so I can't speak to how the light holds up but so far, so good.
