Customer Review: A really good choice

Having spent more money than I care to think about on various types of book lights that basically sucked, I was not really wanting to spend even more on yet another one that I might not like. I bought this one using gift certificates, and after using it, realized I would have been happy spending the real cash on it. Yes, it can get a little scratched if you're not careful and mine has a few but they really are not a problem. It's bright enough that instead of flipping it back and forth to each page, I simply flip the edge up a little to illuminate the page the light is not sitting on. This is the ONLY light I've had that does not bother my husband while he's trying to sleep and I still want to read, so it's been worth it just for that. I get alot of use out of a set of batteries but I don't read for hours with it every night. I think if you do use it like that, rechargeables would be the way to go. As it is, I have had mine for 3 and a half months and have not changed batteries yet. I use it several times a week for anywhere from a half hour to an hour at a time. Definitely get the case to keep it in.Customer Review: Everyone wants one!

We first purchased the Lightwedge Original about three years ago, are still using it nightly, and have since purchased another one for ourselves (my husband and I kept fighting over it). Because we are so pleased with the high quality of this product and the light with which it illuminates our books, we have also purchased the paperback-sized edition. To be honest, we have never used the lens care kit (we have not bought one yet), nor have we needed to - we just keep them in their cases or right in our current book when not using them. The first one we purchased is still providing the clean, clear light it did three years ago for reading in bed or in the car. We take them wherever we go (when we are travelling, we don't even bring the soft covers, because we just store them in the current book we are reading) and every friend and relative we visit wants one! Thus, we give them frequently as "thank-you for having us" gifts as well as Christmas and birthday gifts. I love to read in the quiet of night when the kids are in bed, but having a light on is a distraction to my husband and alerts the kids that I'm awake giving them the impression that they can come in and "chat" a few minutes longer (anything to avoid bedtime!). This is a great product for late night readers such as myself. I can read in bed and my husband doesn't even know it. It takes a little time getting used to because you have to pick it up and turn it with every page but it's well worth the small inconvenience. The lighting is so much better than other, more "traditional" book lights: it illuminates the entire page and there is no light glare. It's simply perfect!
Be sure to get the storage case and cleaner or dust and small surface scratches will quickly become a nuisance, though I use my eyeglass cleaner and cloth with the same good results. I LOVE this product!
Customer Review: It got me reading again

After a couple of years keeping my wife awake while i read in bed at night, I stopped. Either the nightstand light was too bright, or the clip-on light shone directly in her eyes while she was trying to go to sleep.
With my busy schedule, I literally never found another time to read. When I got my LightWedge (original size), all of that changed. Now I am able to read everything from magazines to hardcover (and paperback) books to (unfortunately) work documents without waking her or keeping her from falling asleep.
I've read a few of the other reviews, and as long as you keep the lens in a book (it keeps your place like a bookmark) or in the available soft case, scratches will be minimal at most. (Just follow the care instructions in the package. They're easy to find!)

Customer Review: The only option...

I have tried numerous booklights over the years and they all seemed to require that I spend more time fooling with them then actually reading. Several that I have tried seemed to fall apart within a few weeks of using them, or required frequent battery changes. The Lightwedge looks at the problem in a whole new light (pun intended) and I have one that I have used regularly for more then two years now (without the scratch problem that others mention, it only sits on a book page and the pages I read are generally pretty soft). We recently got another one for the kids to use on car trips, since the overhead light is so bothersome to me as the driver.
