I bought this item (original black) as a gift for my husband who likes to read at night in bed. I prefer to go right to sleep and hate having light in my eyes. This emits a soft enough glow that it doesn't disturb me yet it's bright enough for my husband to read. I have to be careful with it around my son who loves to grab it off the bedside table, because it isn't toddler proof . . . not that it is meant to be. It's a great solution for couples where one likes to sleep while the other reads. In fact, I got one for my father because my mother complained about his nighttime reading. I can not imagine how I survived before I bought my LightWedge! I have had many booklights for reading at night and in the car, but this one is the best ever. It is lightweight and gives just the right amount of light on your book without disturbing the driver in a car or your partner in the bed. It is great to travel with since it is slim and can actually be left in the book as your bookmark. I have the case for it and I can just slip it in and out of the case as needed. The batteries last and last so you don't need to worry about going through lots of batteries. This is a great invention and well worth every penny!Customer Review: Great Light

Solid product! The light illuminates the page nicely without giving off too much light that may disrupt your lover's sleep. This can be used as a tool to preserve a solid relationship if your bed buddy is easily annoyed with any lights on at bedtime. I have been using mine for a while. The plastic is scratched through the years but I travel with mine. I suggest getting a travel case if you plan to be mobile with it. I purchased the LightWedge original for my husband for Christmas and he LOVES it! He normally reads late at night but does it in the other room so he won't keep me awake. Oddly enough on New Year'e Eve our electricity went out for about an hour (right before midnight) and he was able to keep reading without missing a beat...thanks to the light wedge! I'm planning to make a "protector sleeve" for it out of polar fleece as opposed to purchasing one. It'll work fine, I'm sure.Customer Review: Light by Night

I saw this product on a talk show and it looked like the answer to my reading at night problem - I have to get out of bed to turn off the light! When I received the LightWedge, I tried it out that night...what a wonderful product! The light it gives is plenty enough to see the pages and it doesn't disturb my partner who is trying to sleep! It is lightweight as well and the bookrest that comes with it is a great help too! I liked it so much, I bought the paperback model too!
