I bought one of these for each of my cars, as a supplement to a roadside emergency kit. Because I live in southern California, the likelihood is greater that I'll get stuck somewhere because of an earthquake or car trouble than because of bad weather, so I used this as a basic food and water supply for such an occurrence. I already have first aid kits and other basic survival gear in the cars, so I just added these and extra clothing, and voila: Instant earthquake kit! Remember, it's only enough for one person for three days, so depending on where and how you drive, you might need more than one; if you don't already have a roadside emergency kit (get one!), you might want to get the whole Wings of Life Backpack instead of this supplement.Customer Review: For my worry-wart Mom

Every winter my Mom exhorts encourages and nags me until I have created an emergency kit and put it in my car (like I'm going to get stranded driving less than 5 miles to work on busy suburban streets...) This year I got her back and bought one of these kits for Christmas. Although it was inexpensive enough to serve as the annual gag gift it is actually quite sensible to have emergency supplies in the home and I am going to make this the nucleus of our own emergency kit for the family.Customer Review: As Promised!

I purchased this product along with the LifeLight and Wings of Life Backpack. Although I use the other two products on the go, I keep this product in my apartment in case of an emergency. The pack contained everything as advertised (blanket, water, food). I have always felt that it's important to be prepared for emergencies, and this kit does just that for a very low cost.Customer Review: Good basic kit

A good basic kit. No frills but a good starting point
At this price it makes a great present fo people that are hard to buy for.
There is room in the pack to add a few small items such as matches, a couple of mylar sheets, a multi-tool and a few more things.

Haven't had to use it yet, but I feel much safer with it for my long trips. Heavy, but easy to pack and convenient. I won't go a long ways into the wild without it!
