I have been looking for a GOOD ice cream freezer for years. Not since the wooden hand crank, pack with ice and salt, fold a couple of rugs place kid on top, and crank until you almost die freezers, have I had good home made ice cream. UNTIL, Today!!! This Machine is awesome!!!! I started off with a slow to freeze recipe to start off with and to test the machine "Vanilla Ice Milk" to my delight and not to mention my wife and kids it was ready to eat frozen "solid" stiff. With VERY FINE ice crystals in the skim milk. For those who don't know Ice Milk is 100% fat free. Today my daughter wanted "Cake Batter Ice Cream", I had never heard of it but my daughter said it was at Cold Stones. I made up my own recipe on the spot and froze it and it froze "solid" stiff to the point the blade stopped this time in about 22 minutes. My daughter LOVED it, I have no idea of what Cold Stones ice cream tasted like but my daughter was happy with mine. Some of the best bucks I spent last year were for the half gallon Lello ice cream maker. To say I'm pleased would be a gross understatement, I am delighted! I went to a Xmas Eve party just a few weeks ago. Beforehand, I prepared a full gallon of vanilla custard (French style) ice cream in the Lello using the recipe from the booklet provided with the machine. That gallon was quickly consumed and everyone, without exception, raved and said it was the best ice cream they had every tasted.
My days of buying so-called 'gourmet' ice cream from supermarkets or ice cream stores are over. I can do better at home with the Lello and the Lello booklet recipe for Avocado ice cream has become a staple in my home. Wow! What a new and delightful taste.

I have been making ice cream in a Cuisinart macine for years but I wanted to regain my freezer space from the 2 canisters I had to keep ready.. I also wanted to make good gelato since I can't go to Italy all the time. This machine delivers the real experience for both. It also can chill wine in just a few minutes. I had first bought the Lussino 4080 by Musso at about twice the price. It was terrible. Too soft right out of the machine and full of ice crystals when put in the freezer for any amount of time. It didn't get firm, it became a rock. I returned it and got the Lello Gelato Pro instead. It is quieter, has a washable bowl, weighs much less and makes a larger amount of ice cream. It's no contest. this product is wonderful. it arrived, i cleaned it, read the instructions, loaded it, pushed 2 buttons, and 45 minutes had 2 1/2 quarts of the best raspberry double cream ice cream i ever tasted. the only problem is, i ate all the ice cream before the next 45 minutes was up. but.. i'm gonna die happy. seriously, it is one of the easiest machines i have ever used, it's no louder than my bread machine, and it does everthing it advertises. what could be better??Customer Review: So awesome, now I can have ice cream daily without getting fat!

Definitely one of the best purchases I've made. Heavy duty, extremly easy to use, and the ice cream is delicious. The manual is 1-2 pages long, out of the box, plug it in and it's ready to go. 1 hour after receiving the machine, I'm already gobbling down my 1st strawberry yogurt icecream blend, and it even tasts better than PinkBerry! Think I'm ready to open my own ice cream shop with this, highly recommended for all dessert lovers.
