Customer Review: Gaining weight has never been easier (or more delicious)!

I waited nearly two months for this, and when it finally came I was thinking it wouldn't see use until next summer. I was wrong. I've had to restrain myself to keep from making a batch a day! It's hard to imagine something much easier: mix the ice cream, pour it in, set the timer and go watch TV until it's done. The compressor is as quiet or quieter than the motor driving the paddle, so noise isn't a problem. The "manual" is really just a recipe book (with lots of delicious recipes), but what's to figure out? If I had to pick nits, I'd say that the slot to add ingredients mid-process is a bit skinny, and the fact that the freezer chamber lid can't be removed from the motor can make cleaning it a tad difficult.Customer Review: Fabulous for diabetics! I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes shortly after purchasing this item. I was thrilled to find out that the custard ice cream recipes are high in protien and could be made with Splenda! (although the substitution makes the ice cream freeze harder) I have experimented with a variety of recipes and indulged my sweet tooth that way! Our first machine we received was damaged in shipping, Amazon had a new machince out to us by FedEx within 2 days, and provided free shipping back for the damaged item. We were very pleased with the service. This machine is quiet, easy to use, and a MUCH better investment than one of the cheaper varieties...you'll get your money's worth and never go back to store-bought junk. :)

I had high hopes when I ordered this machine and I have to say it met my high expectations. It is heavy (which is not a hidden fact). I really think that is the only negative thing, if you can call it that.
We have made vanilla Bean, Key Lime Sorbet, and Orange Chocolate Chip ice cream. There are so many good recipes on line and in magazines- I find there are more things to make than I have time to eat! It is nice to think "I want this flavor Ice Cream" and be able to make it and have it that night. Important to know although you don't have to plan as far as getting "soft serve" you should really freeze the final product for an hour for best results. I would highly recomend this machine!

In January of 08, I will have had the 4070 Gelato frozen desert maker for 4 years. I have only used it about 25 times during this time (my laziness), with no malfunction, so it appears to be pretty durable. I like the fact that I can try recipes of my own, devising ones that you can't find anywhere else. Some are delicious while others -- not so good. If you like to experiment with frozen deserts or just make traditional recipes, then this is for you. I also like the fact that you can use it any time, not having to wait until the the canister in the freezer is cold enough or mess with salt and ice like with other frozen desert makers. All in all, a great, fun, and reliable product.Customer Review: Gelato Junior is Cool!!

I absolutely love the new Gelato Junior that I recently purchased from Amazon.com. I have made countless quarts of ice cream without all the mess of ice and rock salt. Because it makes around a quart each time, I feel free to experiment with different flavors. I even made avocado ice cream. The only draw-back to the machine is that it takes around 60 - 70 minutes to make the ice cream instead of the 25 - 30 as advertised. I would recommend it to anyone who loves ice cream. It has been especially good for me because I am lactose intolerant. I buy lactose-free milk to make the ice cream, and I have been able to get back to the luxury of having one of my favorite desserts.
