Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Lekue Silicone Ice Cube Tray, PenguinCustomer Review: Not bad, but not entirely dishwasher safe Summary: 3 Stars
I used these for making penguin-shaped chocolates, they worked great!
However, although they say dishwasher safe, make sure they are on the upper rack. I accidentally washed it on the lower rack, and it was too close to the heating element and melted.
There was a Fred brand ice mold next to it which held up fine, since the Fred ones are more heat-resistant - you can put Fred ones in the oven - but not these!
I'd rate it higher if it hadn't melted in the dishwasher after the first time I used it.
Customer Review: It's an ice cube tray Summary: 3 Stars
It's the yin to an ice cube trays yang, hard to get the water in without spilling but very easy to get the cubes out. Maybe one day science can cross breed a super ice cube tray. Until then the engineers need to put some channels between the cube chambers to allow water to flow better.
Customer Review: lose shape quickly Summary: 3 Stars
I have the penguins and the stars. The penguins turn into balls really fast. The stars hold their shape for about 5 minutes, then turn into balls. I think the tray is easier to use than some of the other reviewers.
Customer Review: Decent Summary: 3 Stars
It's a nice change-up from a normal ice cube tray. Not very efficient though. Takes the whole tray to chill a glass of mine (about 2 normal glasses). Next tray I'll just be buying a normal one.
Customer Review: Cute, but misleading Summary: 3 Stars
Cute product, but it is NOT silicone.
This is a recycled rubber product. The title is highly misleading. If these get hot at all, they deform.
But, they are cute.
