I bought a cheapie version of this, and soon the metal discolored and seemed like it didn't get clean, and the wires weren't as strong. This one is very high quality, the wires are firm and the indentations make it easy to make cross cuts by rotating the egg one turn. Wish I'd bought this one first.Customer Review: Great product

My wife is a professional cook who kept breaking her egg slicers at work. I finally bought her this "high priced" egg slicer and it has worked perfectly ever since. You may find cheaper ones, but you also may end up buying five or six of the cheaper ones every year. This seems near indestructable.Customer Review: Everyone should have one of these.

After trying an antique egg slicer at a friend's house, I knew I had to find one. This egg slicer is sturdy and well made...I can tell already that it's going to last for a lifetime. This is an excellent egg slicer. I previously had several cheap plastic slicers, and the cutting wires would always break. After the last one broke, I decided to pay more and get a quality slicer. I have had my egg slicer for years, and I use it often. It is the first one I owned that never showed even the slightest sign of rust or bending of the tines. I bought this one for my sister because I have been so pleased with mine. Definitely worth the price.
