This fan is a replacement for a 12 inch one which seemed to be better built, weighed more and used metal rather than plastic; however it failed after several years of intermittent use. I have a Lasko humidifier which has been working well for 5 years. With very little intermittent use this new fan is working well. It requires minimal easy assembly which at first does not appear intuitively obvious. The only thing I can fault is that the fan construction appears flimsy as everything about it is plastic.
