Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kyocera Revolution Series 7-Inch Professional Chef's Knife, Black Blade

Customer Review: Great Knife, and Really Sharp!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently purchased this knife, and the 7 inch blade is just right. I cut everything from vegetables, to meats, to bread, and the knife operates flawlessly.
This is my 2nd ceramic knife (I also purchased the Kyocera 3 1/7 inch paring knife.)
The black ceramic blade is very nice looking. Just be careful you don't cut yourself because these knives are VERY SHARP!!
Time will tell regarding the knife handle durability (consists of 2 halves)and edge retention. BUT with the 3 year Kyocera warranty (I think it's 3 years,) I am covered for any issues which may arise, But for now, it looks like there won't be any.
I highly recommend these knives to others.

Customer Review: great knive, great price
Summary: 5 Stars

I prep for a large restaurant 6 days a week and use this knife for nearly everything. It has stayed sharp for well over a year of hard work. Considering the store pays a company almost 2 bucks a week to sharpen each steel knife, the knife has "DOUBLE"
payed for itself already and I have yet to send it off to get sharpened. Yes, some people complain you cant use it like a steel knife with prying open things or that its fragile. Really people.... its a knife! you should be careful not to drop it, and using ANY knife to pry things open will cause damage to any knife. all in all a great knife, kinda cheap handle, that has a potential to lose grip when wet or oily.

Customer Review: Fabulous knife!
Summary: 5 Stars

A dull knife is the most dangerous tool in the kitchen. I've always owned very good knives -- including Henckels (not the ones made in China), Wustof, Shun, etc. -- and have always sharpened my own knives with steels and with my Chef's Choice electric sharpeners. But these ceramic knives by Kyocera truly are great because they don't need sharpening and are extremely sharp. I can pull these knives out each time and know they are ready for use. I make my own gravlax and am impressed with the paper-thin slices of the raw fish that I can get from using the ceramic knives.

Customer Review: Most amazing kitchen knife!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the most amazing kitchen knife EVER! I bought this for my husband (he does most of the cooking in our house) and he loves it. It slices everything from tomatoes to warm bread. I knew it was a winner when I noticed my husband washing it and putting it away each time he uses it. We bought one for our best friend and she thinks it is the best knife she has used also.(She was skeptical when she learned it wasn't stainless steal; used it and completely changed her mind. Buy this for anyone you know that enjoys working in the kitchen__they will LOVE you for it!

Customer Review: A ceramic knife?
Summary: 5 Stars

Kyocera Revolution Series 7 Inch Professional Chef's Knife, Black Blade
My oldest son's wife told me that he wanted a ceramic knife for Christmas. I had never heard of such a thing. I found it on Google & purchased it on Amazon.com.It's supposed to be sharper and longer lasting than a metal knife. Who would have thunk it?
My son was very pleased with the knife and used it to carve the holiday turkey.
