Having decided to buy some Kyocera ceramic knives, I also realized that the most destructive force known to mankind exists in our kitchen. Like everyone else, we have a daily utensil drawer. We also have the miscellaneous utensil drawer. Both definitely seem to do a good job of placing pressure against the sides of the utensils. Sure, only a few times have things gotten mangled. But long before those drawers would mangle our ceramic knives, they would surely place a lot of force against the side of the blades.
With those voracious drawers snapping at the chance to gobble up our new knives, I knew it was time to use an onuce of prevention. Kyocera's knife block is perfect for the job. It's definitely a sturdy piece. I knew that in our kitchen we had two options. We could either place it upright or lay it flat in a drawer. Either way, it would protect the knives wihtout being a nuisance.
Though it is not an option in our kitchen, the Kyocera knife block can be hung from the wall. The holes in the back of the knife block are well engineered. I was at first skeptical about the price. But seeing and using it, I definitely think the quality of the knife block justifies the price.
Overall, this ounce of prevention is worth the price. I can definitely recommend this product. Oh, wait! I am recommending it! 8^)
