I have to be honest and say that I did not expect much. What I got was way way more than I thought it would be. It is great. The blade is absurdly sharp and even managed to make carpaccio of fairly soft tomatoes. Firm foods like Apple, potato and Jicama come out awesomely. For vegan / raw style dish assembly this thing is amazing - the textures of fine sliced vegetables is awesome. Clean up is great as well - slam it in the dishwasher. I think if your a professional chef you need a proper mandolin and you can probably validate the expense, care and setup needed. But for a home chef this is just perfect. At little over twenty bucks you cant go wrong.
