Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Koolatron KWC-4 Coca-Cola Personal 6-Can Mini FridgeCustomer Review: Coca Cola Cooler Summary: 5 Stars
I'm really pleased with my little cooler. Out here in our Afghan camps, it is very practical - it can be switched from 110v to 220v (int'l camp standards and all mixed up), it's very light and compact & fits in my gorilla box or can be packaged for the next camp with hardly a thought - there are stringent weight limits for all of us (we have choppers bringing mail, not huge cargo carriers, lol, so weight is important. It keeps things cool - like hard-to-come-by real eggs, chocolates, protein bars, that sit on the removable tray. The main area keeps soda cans cool, or remove the tray and place 4 regular water bottles.
It came with a car adapter so in the US it'd be a good traveler. Some reviews complain it's not COLD. That's cuz its a 'COOLER'..it's NOT a fridge that meets higher standards. It converts to 'Warming' too..so I can keep my soup warm if I need to leave suddenly.
All around - extremely practical, versatile, very portable, simple, affordable, and a mood lifter to boot.
I'm sure appreciating it!
Customer Review: Very small and convenient, but not a freezer substitute Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this fridge for a few weeks and it works great for my purposes. The fridge works particularly well for storing canned sodas. Once the fridge was plugged in (using the included adapter), it got cool enough for sodas and snacks. The temperature the fridge reaches works for me because my snacks only need to stay cool for the day. Haven't had any problem with the latch, which may have been changed in design since some reviews were posted. The fridge is lightweight enough that I was able to carry it several blocks. My only quibble is the bright red Coca-Cola design. It would be nice if this product came in a neutral color. I also wish it had some kind of shelf or divider, but maybe there isn't enough room.
If you are looking for a larger fridge that holds more than a few canned sodas and snacks, or that needs to be below a certain temperature (like for milk), you might want to consider another product. But for someone like me who wasn't expecting much, this fridge is just fine.
Customer Review: Great desktop fridge Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this for about 7 months now and had no problems. It works extremely well at keeping my sodas cool enough to drink so I don't have to use the communal fridge. I also use it sometimes to hold a couple of sodas and a sandwich or something for lunch. Others have mentioned the latch - it does feel flimsy but I haven't had any problems with it at all. During the summer, I get some sweating inside, so have to periodically wipe out the condensed water, but other than that, I LOVE this fridge! My office won't allow anything that radiates heat, so other brands that heat as well as cool won't work (it's why I picked this one). Yes, it's not as cold as a full refrigerator, but in the summer not having to run to another room to get a cold soda is great!!! Also if you are considering this, bear in mind the size constraints mentioned by other reviews. I use this primarily for my cans of soda so it's not a problem for me.
Customer Review: Perfect Desktop Tiny Fridge Summary: 5 Stars
Cute, tiny fridge that fits just enough - 2 yoghurts and a sandwich, plus a bit more. Perfect for a day's worth of lunch and snacks at work, or a few cans of soda. Keeps items cool, and isn't too large or too loud - basic volume is similar to a small desk fan. Doesn't accumulate much condensation on the interior, either - perfect tiny, work desktop style fridge.
I haven't tried this in my car yet. I was happy to see that it adapts to be used in a car. That'll be nice on long trips back home with my little one - I can keep her milk cool on the trip!
So far, it's been in constant use for at least three months, with very few breaks. Thing's still going.
Customer Review: Koolatron OK! Summary: 5 Stars
Wanted this to hold a pint container of half & half for my coffee at work so I could use that instead of that non-dairy creamer stuff. Some reviews I previously read complained about the door handle, stating that it broke too easily because of the design. Looks like they changed the design so that it wouldn't be used incorrectly. Seems sturdy. The unit runs on DC or AC, and comes with a "cigarette lighter" type adapter that allows you to use it in a car. It's quieter than my PC. For my needs it works just fine. As for durability, I'll have to let you know in a few months.
