Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenArt 22101 Mini Adjust-A-Cup, Satin

Customer Review: Works fast and cleans up easily.
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't know what I did before these things , any sticky solid or liquid is so much easier to measure with this , cleanup is a snap and item fairs well in the dishwasher.

Customer Review: Great for liquid or semi-liquid ingredients
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought this at the same time as a similar larger measuring cup of the same design. Works great for peanut butter, shortning etc.

Customer Review: measures well, but not exactly dishwasher safe
Summary: 4 Stars

I have a bread recipe that I use quite often that calls for two tablespoons of honey. This little cup is great for measuring out that amount of sticky honey for the recipe. So I give it 4 stars. However, the listing says it is dishwasher safe but I'm not so sure about that. The packaging probably warned me against loading it in the bottom rack of the dishwasher, but of course, I no longer have the packaging. The easiest way to put these small plastic items in the dishwasher is to throw them in the silverware rack - which is on the bottom. After several washings, the interior plunger has warped. It still measures correctly but I can't push all the honey out with the plunger. It's really my fault, and if the listing said TOP RACK dishwasher safe, I'd give the darn thing five stars. It works well to measure sticky substances but keep it in the top of your dishwasher.

Customer Review: Does Well What It's Meant to Do
Summary: 4 Stars

I have the one cup version, and I had one of these until I melted it in the microwave while trying to soften up some honey. Lesson learned: NOT for hot liquids! Of course, I don't think it ever claimed to be. It's perfect for exact measurements of honey with little waste or frustration from trying to scrape the last drop out of a measuring spoon. But for $8, I won't be replacing mine; rarely does the amount of honey, butter or peanut butter in a recipe have to be as exact as this plunger cup allows you to be, even when baking. So from now on I'm just going to eyeball it, as the great and mighty Alton suggests. I'll still keep using the big one (at least until I melt THAT one in the microwave some day!), because like I said, it's great for exact measurements with little waste.

Customer Review: Nice, but only for very viscous liquids
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had this product for a few months. And I've used it maybe 10 times since owning it. Overall, it is great for what it does. When I'm measuring honey or molasses this is the tool I reach for. It is very easy to set the measuring up to the right amount. And it is extremely easy to push sticky substances out of the container. But, it would simply take more time than needed to set at the right amount when measuring substances that don't stick. In the majority of cases I just reach for my old fashioned tablespoon and teaspoon ring.
