Customer Review: Attractive and suprisingly easy to install

Kidco must have improved the intructions as it was quite simple to install with the pics and templates. This gate is actually fairly attractive as well. I was looking at all the wood gates thinking those would blend in more but I saw a couple installs where the wood tones didn't compliment with the railing and it just looked horrible (think brand new black shirt with faded black pants). This looks much more modern and streamlined looking.
Someone mentioned its tough to open...well maybe if you don't adjust the bolts properly or don't offeset the templates. There is a tension spring that makes you apply upward pressure to hook into the insets. We have to remember we are trying to keep toddlers from opening this.
I looked and looked at the reviews and decided on this one, I must say I was "pleasantly surprised".
Lastly I was able to modify the gate for a cat door opening. I cut a vertical piece out and used a moldable steel expoxy to place it in horizontally. Then put some flat black touchup on it. Extremely secure, looks like it came that way and what a bright idea must I add!
