Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter

Customer Review: simply excellent
Summary: 5 Stars

I am glad I did. I use it regularly and have done so for several months. I have not encountered any of the problems mentioned by others. The tabs ARE a bit small, and possibly will deteriorate in time. But the ability to use my own French Roast ground coffee and the reduced cost make this a very viable alternative. I do not give it 5 stars because it is true that it's a bit of a hassle to change over to the K-cup insert when my family want to brew their favorite flavored coffees.
I will update the review if I run into problems....for now I'm enjoying good coffee. After reading some of the negative reviews regarding the flimsiness of the reusable filter I hesitated to get it. After many months of using the K-cups and assessing the different offerings, I finally broke down and got the filter.

Customer Review: My K Cup
Summary: 5 Stars

I just purchased my Keurig Platinum brewer about a week ago and have the reusable K-Cup to go with it. Well, at first, the coffee was very weak when using the reusable K-Cup with my own coffee . I then figured out what to do about it because I really like the fact that I can use my own coffee in this thing. Grind your coffee to a fine texture similar to that of the coffee in the k-cups you purchase. You will be surprised at how delicious the coffee will then taste! If you don't have a coffee grinder it might be well worth the investment. I will eventually purchase a couple more reusable cups so I can keep them filled with my coffee and ready to brew. I love the convenience of having a fresh cup of delicious coffee at any time without wasting a whole pot. I am very happy with this product.

Customer Review: Excellent Coffee and Affordable!
Summary: 5 Stars

Having been a Keurig user for several years now, I am very pleased to have recently purchased my own machine for my home office. The sad looks of neglected regular coffee bags began gnawing at me and my wife presented me with the K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter. Best purchase ever for a coffee addict. Not only does it make an amazing cup of your favorite store purchased blend, but it will also save you quite a few dollars on the investment of ready-made K-Cupped Coffees.

I certainly recommend this item as a must for any Keurig owner. The only cons are the amount of time it takes to clean the filter out after each use... so if you're incredibly lazy, just spend the extra money and get the ready-made K-Cups. For me and my money-conscious wallet, the investment has been worthwhile.

Customer Review: Illy in your Keurig!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

It's true -- I'm a decaf-coffee addict. And if you've ever tasted Illy's decaf, then you know it's too good to live without.

I have been using the espresso grind setting on my Illy beans in this filter-- 3t per cup. It makes a strong, smooth, cup that doesn't bite back or taste like most decaf out there -- holds up to cream, 1/2&1/2, milk, 1%, sugar, brown sugar, honey, or Stevia (I don't have any idea how it works w/ pink, blue, or yellow packets as they all give me migraines....)

The box literature says not to use it with fine espresso grind -- that it might clog the machine -- but I've never had any problem in the closed "My Cup" Easy to clean -- my Keurig sits close enough to the sink to just give it a quick rinse before I enjoy the coffee.

Customer Review: Great Little Product
Summary: 5 Stars

Very simple to use and no problem if you read and follow directions. Use coarse coffee for best results. Shake a regular K-cup, you can hear the grounds which means the coffee is coarse. Be gentle when you put the top on. It goes on very easily; no force required. Fill the little basket to just below the plastic rim. Cleaning is no problem. Right after the coffee brews brews rinse the lid and holder under the faucet and use the hose sprayer to clean the basket and it gets all the residue out of the mesh. I have a Kroger store near me which carries different blends of Millstone ground coffee in little 1.75oz bags for $1.59. You can pour the coffee from the little bag directly into the basket. Like others I do recommend doing this over the sink for any stray coffee grounds.
