Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Keurig B-70 B70 Platinum Single-Cup Home Brewing SystemCustomer Review: Couldn't leave the store without being complemented on the Keurig B70 in my basket... Summary: 5 Stars
I got my Keurig B70 using a 20% off coupon at Bed, Bath, & Beyond which was a nice deal. Along with the machine, I picked up the carousel which holds 27 k-cups, and a 60 k-cup variety pack. I figured that 60 k-cup variety pack along with the 18 samplers inside the box would allow me to have a bit of fun for a while.
One thing that really caught my attention was that as I was putting these items into my basket, I was stopped by someone who started telling me all about how amazing this machine was, and that he recently upgraded from the mini to the B70. He assured me i'd love it and even gave me a bit of recommendations on some flavors to try (Coffee People Donut Shop, and Timothy's German Chocolate Cake).
After a few minutes the guy walked off, and as i was making my way around the corner, another person look in my basket and told me I made an excellent choice. Never in my life have I experienced such a response from other shoppers regarding what I had in my shopping basket. This was pretty exciting because I knew I had made the right choice. I was looking at the Senseo and Tassimo a few days earlier, but the reviews here on Amazon for the Keurig B70 along with the fact that there are just SO MANY k-cups to choose from made the decision easy for me.
After having my machine for about a week, I can say that I am extremely pleased. The k-cups taste great, and the variety is amazing. I can't believe how fast this thing can brew a cup. It literally takes less than 2 minutes. Because of this B70 machine I've been inspired to learn how to make cappuccinos, and how to froth milk.
Customer Review: A breakfast-time robotic companion Summary: 5 Stars
I don't drink a lot of coffee, but when I do, I like the experience as much as the coffee itself. For instance, when I need a coffee and I go into the gas station to buy a cup, I enjoy listening to conversations between landscapers in Spanish. I equally enjoy holding the door for the mother of an infant who is talking loudly on her cellphone.
Out around town, I like to take in the outdoors while drinking my coffee, watching the cars try to parallel park or watching the birds chase a squirrel. You know, I enjoy the little things.
So, what do I do when my wife tells me she wants to buy a coffee maker which brews only one cup at a time and the cups can cost nearly $1 each? I look for the experience. You see, this isn't a coffee maker, it is a beverage creation station from the future. It lights up in a science fiction-esque blue glow. A quick flick of the handle reveals a brew cup holding station which is home to two very sharp teeth. The machine emits a number of wonderous whirs and gurgles when it starts up. Technology has advanced to such a degree that you can even choose the temperature of your beverage down to the single degree.
If the Jetsons were alive today, they would be impressed by our single cup beverage machine from the future. With five choices of beverage sizes, the only thing it is missing is a robotic smile to greet me each morning. Some day we will have our coffee delivered to us by robotic butlers or cybernetic genetically controlled monkeys, but until then, I welcome this robotic glowing single cup brewer into my household.
Customer Review: Keurig B70--one tiny quirk Summary: 5 Stars
After reading numerous reviews, I decided that this machine was probably a good choice for my work location. Granted only two people use the coffee machine on a regular basis, but it has withstood our use/abuse for over 6 months. After running the recommended empty brew cycles, we experienced no negative plastic smells or flavors. We love that we can brew both hot and cold drinks--just fill your cup with ice and use the smallest drink setting, and (voila!) you have an iced tea or an iced chai latte.
I would advise new users to be advised that the floating water level sensor can cause an issue. There is a certain level at which no refill indicator is lit; although, there appears to be enough water in the reservoir. At this point, the machine sounds as if it is going to brew, then completely shuts off. I initally thought I had purchased a faulty machine, but after some basic troubleshooting I discovered the issue--the machine needs more water. Outside of this issue, I believe a child or even a mentally challenged person could operate this machine. On that note, keep this machine out of reach of children; there are two a very sharp needle-like puncture tools inside the K-cup holding area that one could be hurt on.
I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a home brewer or an office brewer that has a light load. I caution you to research the cost of the K-cups before making this purchase; the K-cups often cost upwards of 50 cents each. The Keurig is not a machine for those who want cheap coffee, but it does provide coffee on demand-for a price!
Customer Review: FABULOUS - AWESOME - HASSLE FREE - COFFEE/TEA/COCOA EVERY TIME Summary: 5 Stars
The Keurig B-70 is my answer to easy coffee, anytime, quickly, with superb results. It also brews tea and makes hot chocolate simple. The machine itself is very high-tech looking and has a very expensive look and feel to it. It will look wonderful on any kitchen countertop or in any setting. I SIMPLY LOVE IT! Your guests will be drawn to it, it just looks so interesting with its mystical blue lights.
There is absolutely no mess and it's fun for your guests or family to be able to choose what they like from the hundreds of choices available, of course their choices will be limited to what you have on hand. Amazon seems to have the best deal on the K-cups which is the genius of the machine. Pop one in and in 30 seconds or so you have a steaming cup of your fsvorite beverage. Though it costs a bit more per beverage, you will easily make that up with its ease of use and convenience (saves a lot of time and mess). No longer will you be pouring half full pots of coffee down the drain.
I also own the B-60 and I noticed that a reviewer here stated there are no differences. There are three huge differences that the B-70 features over the B-60. The larger reservoir is very nice to have, I don't have to fill it so often. The fact that the B-70 brews a 12 oz cup is a giant difference to me. And last, the B-70 appears better engineered, it is much quieter and is also better looking.
I give this the HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! AAA+++ It also has a one (1) year warranty, simply fill in the enclosed warranty card.
Customer Review: B60 compared to B70 and noise issue Summary: 5 Stars
This product is great, especially if you are one cup a day person or you and your significant other drink at different times. Here is the scoop...I first purchased the B60 since it appeared to be the best value. I wish I would have known about the noisy pump before I purchased. After reading more reviews I realized the B70 was supposed to be "whisper quiet." However, some were still saying the B70 was still loud. Turns out, there was a product update and so any of those available now which state they have the "Quiet Brew Technology" are MUCH quieter than previous models and WAY quieter than the B60. The noise of the B60 is almost not tolerable. The larger water holder and the extra brew sizes on B70 also makes it worth the extra $$. I originally purchased the B60 at a department store for $129, learned more about the B70 and bought that on Amazon for $157, and then found out I could get a better deal at Bed Bath and Beyond for $134 with a 20% off coupon from their website. Can't go wrong. Obviously I returned the others. Even if I didn't spot such a good deal, I do believe its worth it to spend the extra to get the B70. you are spending a decent amount to begin with, you might as well get the right one. Also, with subscribe and save from Amazon, you can get k-cups for about .40/cup rather than .50+ from most other retailers. Also ordered the My K-cup so I can save even more. Go with the B70, I can't believe I used to make coffee with a conventional coffee pot in the past. I don't think I will ever go back.
