We only had this thermometer a few weeks when the battery went out and I haven't been able to find a replacement battery so I haven't used it since. Overall, I would not recommend this.Customer Review: Just ordered......

I just ordered this. I had bought one about 10 years ago when they first came out. (And what a surprise at the price difference! LOL! They were $100 back then!) Anyhow, I LOVE it. It's still working fine, but it's a bit big and bulky and at this price I may as well get a new one!
The thing I want to address is that a lot of people are talking about wrong readings. Well, it has a LOT to do with the ear canal more than the thermometer. My husband and daughter have very narrow canals and the thermometer does not work on them no matter HOW it, or the ear, are positioned. On myself and my two sons, it works just fine. The thermometer has to have a clear opening to fit in right, and to feel the heat of the fever accurately.

When my 15 year old was little it was AWFUL to take his temperature. Now that I had my younger son (now 4) I purchased this thermometer and let me tell you it's SO easy to take his temp when he doesn't feel well. He even likes to tell me he's the "gocker" (doctor) and take mine as well.Customer Review: Not reliable...

I bought this thinking it was going to be the best thing since sliced bread but was proved wrong. I've never had an accurate reading and I'm not saying it was off by a few tenths or even a degree. It's been off by 5-8 degrees. Also, my daughter has had 2 fevers. We've used this thermometer a total of 4 times & I've already replaced the batteries twice. I thought the new batteries would cure the inaccuracy but I was wrong. I've thrown it away and I'm sticking to the rectal temperature as it's the one the Doctor's want anyway.Customer Review: Never had a problem Like I read others have had...

I'm reading these reviews and can't believe I have the same product. I have had NO problems with this thermometer. After my daughter had her 1st shots she caught a bad fever. It got so bad that I took her to the ER I told them what her temp was at home, and she had the same temp in the hospital. As for the battery, it won't die if you put it back in the pouch, because it turns off automatically.
