I just received this clock today and so far I am very pleased. Contrary to other reviews, the case was very easy to open and install the batteries. The clock was packed very well. The tail lever was securely taped to the case and a custom cut piece of foam prevented the mechanism from moving during shipping. I bought m first clock years ago I agree the cost is high. But it is a wonderful treasure for cat fans or pop culture lovers. But you have to hang it level on the wall for it to wag and roll his eyes properly but its easy to do....I love mine and have had it for many years andit still works!!!!Customer Review: It's the best!

I love my Kit Kat Clock. When I couldn't get the tail and eyes to swing, I checked the website. They recommended that you open the back and loosen the tiny (and I mean tiny) screw just to the left of the pendulum workings. loosen it a half a turn and VOILA! the tail and eyes now move easily.Customer Review: What it lacks in substance is made up in appeal!

I was lucky to have the opportunity to get the candy apple red Spirit of 76 model on clearance (returned) for the price of the base model (basic black). There is a dramatic difference as to how it looked in the (small) box and once fully animated on a wall. Everyone loves Kit Cat! Mine worked flawlessly out of the box and keeps excellent time. The tail and eyes keep on keepin' on. I temporarily had the clock on my office wall the day it arrived and guys, this clock is a babe magnet! I think everyone in the building made it a point to see him in action! I can also understand how some reviewers came to their conclusions but the Kit Cat clock is too cute to pass up. I could recommend the base model and would leave the jeweled or more expensive models to the hard core Kit Cat fanatics as the closer to $100 price tag is a bit over the top (in my opinion).Customer Review: Love it!

I've always loved these retro "Felix the cat" clocks. The California Clock Co. variety are by far the best looking cat clocks available. Easy to assemble.
