Customer Review: Great toddler bookshelf

This product fully met my expectations. It is small, but I was not surprised by the size based on the dimensions and reviews.
My 21 mo old has mostly small board books. Some are too tiny to see while in the pocket, but since the unit is short, I can point the small books spine down and she can see them when she looks inside.
We are able to fit 20 - 30 board books of various sizes on this shelf. I rotate her books so it just depends on which ones I put in as to how many we can fit. When possible, I put a book behind each book so I can fit more books.
The unit seems durable, but I gave it 4 stars because I doubt it would hold up to climbing. My daughter likes to climb, but doesn't seem interested in climbing this.
This product looks nice in my daughter's room and she really seems to enjoy it. I have noticed she tends to put most of her books away now that she has this shelf unit.
Assembly is easy. I did it myself in 10 - 15 minutes.

I was debating between 4 and 5 stars only because I gave my poor thumb a cramp using the alan wrench to assemble it. With that said, I put it together in about 30 minutes and didn't need any additional tools. I got the shelf in natural and it looks great.
Here are the highlights:
-Perfect height for my 15 month old--he can reach all the books so no worries of him trying to climb it.
-Super easy assembly
-lightweight
-seems sturdy
-holds a good amount of books
-takes up little space, which works well if you don't a lot of space to work with
A couple of things to note:
-alan wrench means a little bit of hand cranking
-don't tighten too hard or the wood may crack
-you can't see little books since they aren't tall enough to stick out (although that's really not a big deal to me--I may just stick those books in a basket)
Overall, I am quite happy with this book sling. It's doing exactly what I needed it for!

This book case is an answer to my prayers. If you were like me I had all of my childs books in a soft bin in the living room and my 22 month old would then proceed to dump ALL of them on the floor. I do have a regular bookcase but he then rips all of the books of the shelf. This bookcase is wonderful. It is small so read the measurments but I find that a plus so my son can reach books with ease. It fits a lot more books than I would have thought when I first ordered it. It is also pleasent to look at. My son now picks out which book he wants since he can see the cover rather than search through a bin. Don't hesitate for the price it is a steal and the free shipping is a bonus as well. My 16 month old son loves books, and this sling shelf is the perfect height. It is best for the larger books, as the small ones don't stick out above the canvas. He does, however, look for the books down in the pockets and pulls them out for me to read to him. It was easy to assemble. It came with a little tool, so I didn't have to dig out a screwdriver. It is also attractive. Everyone that comes into our home comments on what a nice book holder it is for him. It holds about 30 board books if they books are stacked against each other. This is okay with me, as I rotate the books in the shelf. If you expect to display all of the books you have at one time, this probably isn't the holder for you...or you will just need to buy more than one.Customer Review: excellent little book holder for all toddler books!

This sling bookshelf comes unassembled but is quite easy to put together. Anything I have purchased that is made by Kidkraft has been an excellent product.
My toddler has at least 100 books that she inherited from other family members and she loves to organize them in the bookcase. It is slim and fits snug next to any wall. All of it is made of wood except for the sling part that is made of a canvas material. The reason the canvas is convenient is because if you have taller or heavier books, it allows you to adjust for size.
It is convenient for small spaces, I recommend this for day cares and for parents of children who love to read.
