Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Capresso Infinity Conical Burr GrindersCustomer Review: Great grinder Summary: 5 Stars
This grinder is great! It's funny how surprised we all get when a product does what it's supposed to do, but the Capresso really does grind coffee beans and does it well. It obviously gives you the control to grind the coffee to different fineness levels, which is kind of great. I'm able to make all different types of coffee with this grinder, from: turkish to drip. It's been fun figuring out how fine to go to get the best taste with different types of coffee. Making a good shot of espresso's probably the most tempermental as far as the grind goes. It's been fun buying different beans and testing out all the different grind possibilities/brewing methods and finding the best brew method for each bean. Yum...
Really no complaints except that I broke the plastic cover piece the first day, but I really just don't care. The thing works great.
Customer Review: Seems Great! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a first time burr grinder user. I too, did a lot of research before settling on this grinder. I wanted to upgrade from a blade grinder (braun) but not spend a fortune. I have only used it for coarse grind to use in my french press, but it seems to be doing great. Since it's spring, I'm not experiencing any problems with static cling. Cleanup? yup there's clean up, but not a big deal if you're a person used to cleaning up after yourself anyway. The only problem I've had, which is only my stupidity, is that twice I have forgotten to put the drawer back in place before I grind and end with grinds on the counter! I have been using this for couple weeks now and will report back in a few months! I don't think you'll be disappointed. Oh, and it is much quieter (low pitched grinding) than the whine of my Braun blade grinder.
Customer Review: No-compromise grinder at an affordable price Summary: 5 Stars
The Capresso delivers exactly what it promises: a commercial-grade, conical burr grinder at a very reasonable price. I previously owned a basic Krups burr grinder, which was reliable and a definite step up from a blade grinder. But the Capresso offers substantially better performance for not much more money. With the reduction gearing it is quieter, and the conical burrs deliver a more consistent grind. I generally use a stovetop espresso maker; if the grind isn't uniform there ends up being a lot of "dust" in the coffee. With the Capresso, there is very little dust. And after several months of daily use, it shows every sign of being a very durable machine. It's easy to clean as well. If you want a top-notch grinder and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, the Capresso is a great choice.
Customer Review: High Quality Grinder and Good Value Summary: 5 Stars
After an old Krups blade grinder finally gave out, I was worried about finding a good replacement. After one failed attempt at a lower cost (<$30) blade grinder, we did our research and found the Capresso burr grinder. I was concerned about the cost, as this was more than I'd intended to spend. However, we are very pleased with this grinder and we believe it is worth the money. It is much quieter than the old blade grinder, is extremely easy to clean, and grinds the coffee to a good uniform consistency. I like the ability to easily change the size of the grind. The one drawback is not being able to turn it off instantly, but it is very easy to move the size selector to "off", which stops the grinding until the timer runs out. I highly recommend this grinder.
Customer Review: Bye bye blade, hello burr Summary: 5 Stars
I did a lot of research before buying the Capresso 565 Infinity Stainless Steel Conical Burr Grinder. It arrived this week, and so far, so good. I like that it has commercial grade parts. The price was right. It's sturdy, good size, and looks great on the kitchen counter. Before this I had a blade grinder, which was loud and time consuming. With this grinder I can set the grind, time, and walk away. Nice. I was surprised at how quiet it is. One reviewer said it made a "professional" sound, yes, I know what you mean. It's like a quiet purr. I haven't noticed any problems with static. The ground coffee container fits snugly in place so no problem with messy grounds on the counter top. Grinds are uniform with lots of choices. Cool tool for this foodie. :-)
