I bought this cutting board as a holiday gift for my daughter, who LOVES it. The board looks beautiful sitting on her kitchen center island with a wooden salt box. The John Boos board is big, solid and of excellent quality. Go with the thicker 2.25" board. I was apprehensive about the board arriving cracked or damaged during shipping, but it arrived in excellent condition - packaged well by MetroKitchen. Of course, it is very heavy so not prone to throwing around.
I forgot to buy the John Boos Mystery Oil with the board (as a prior reviewer recommended) and so I looked for it locally with no success. Happily, I ordered it through Amazon/MetroKitchen and it arrived quickly in 2-3 days - happily before Christmas. We like the board so much, we may buy a second one!
