Customer Review: Works well for small batch coffee roasting

I use a Behmor Home Coffee Roaster + 8 pounds coffee + free small grid roaster for my usual coffee roasting, but have one of these "nut roasters" to use for small batches and experimenting. I roast my decaf, needed only for parties to have a regular and decaf option, with the roaster and also fiddle around with roasting in parchment and trial batches. Works well with not too much cleanup required. Oh yeah, and it works well for glazing nuts as well.
I generally stick a thermometer into the beans at least a couple of times during the roasting process, but otherwise just use this roaster and a cup or so of green coffee beans. Roast by ear, listen for the first and second crack, and roast by eye/color.

I don't know for certain but it seems most people like nuts or know others who do. This nut roaster, along with a little nut recipe book I bought on Amazon, answered the question, "what gifts do you give when you've lost your job?". Depending on the nuts you choose, and their container, you can be very creative and match the nuts to the occasion. Sweet or savory, nuts are healthy and nutritious. While some people might try to resist the gift of chocolate, nuts are almost always devoured. This Back to Basics Nut Roaster makes gift-making easy and fun-- especially if you have nephews or nieces who want to help!Customer Review: A Great Idea

I find roasting nuts in the oven messy and bulky.
I thought this roaster would roast nuts the way that
I want too, with just spice, while being contained in the little pan.
It did do well using the bottled mix to roast sweet nuts, but
what I found was that the instructions for nuts without
sugar called for pre-roast in the oven.
I found it to be well constructed and easy to use, but I have a very small kitchen so
I passed it on.

I have spent a small fortune on an addiction to roasted cinnamon nutz at fairs, hockey games or craft fairs... Not any more.. with this roaster and purchase of the Cinnamon Nut Glaze by Back to Basics... I make my own and they taste EXACTLY if not BETTER than those that I have purchased. I LOVE this roaster. It makes making roasted/glazed nuts so easy and quick. You can make 2-3 cups of those wonderful glazed nuts like you get at public arena events in about 12 minutes! It does come with a few recipes for glaze, but you cannot beat the Back to Basics Toffee or Cinnamon glaze made just for this roaster.
