There really is no way for guests using these to tell which is the salt and which is the pepper.

Yes, one has 4 holes and one has 3 holes on top. (I think.)

However, I don't expect people do realize which is which.

I think they could have stamped or marked the top's with a "S" and "P".

for that reason alone I gave it a lower rating.

Also, the bottoms don't have a smoothe finish, so I don't like the fact people may smack them on the table and cause scratching on the nice table.

Am I overthinking this? Maybe.
But I know what I like.

In all, happy.

It matches the decor of the set we bought over a year ago that may have been discontinued...
