Customer Review: Are critics trying to blend rocks and concrete?

I really don't understand how so many people can ruin a blender. I've been using this model for about five years, and have made quite a few shakes, smoothies, and vegetable mixes without a single issue. It's great at crushing ice with the pulse setting. I hand wash it along with most of my other kitchen appliances (because I'm not lazy), so it's never warped either.
My guess is that those who give this product 1 or 2 stars either a) stepped out of their kitchen and came back to find their 8-year old kids putting rocks in the blender, b) dropped the thing multiple times, and thus they deserve 1 star for coordination, or c) are too cheap to buy a food processor for tasks meant to be carried out by... a food processor.

I bought this blender to replace a Sunbeam blender that we wore out. Turns out this is a much better product. I don't like the blnders with glass bowls - too heavy and drop them and you have a broken floor or counter tile. We make huge smoothies of frozen bananas & strawberries and raw apples and cooked oatmeal and flax seeds and cantaloupe and on and on and this blender does this very well. The blades are very sharp and cut the raw flax seeds to meal during the blending - which is great as the whole seeds don't digest very well. The bottom seal works very well and the whole thing is easy to clean. It's not real quiet - but it only runs a couple of minutes a day - so who cares. Recommended.Customer Review: Great product !

I paid more than this I think - great price. I really like this blender. It crushes ice with ease. Of course makes great smoothies...and even just put 3 ice cubes in with a cup of chocolate milk (low-fat)...blend it up good and it tastes like a milkshake. I bought the mini-jar and I like that too for grating flax seeds. And I got the Blend-n-Go cup.
No leaking here. As the other person stated...as long as you put the rubber gasket on right it is fine- seals tight. I like that Oster has so many replacement parts here on Amazon. Excellent product and will be back if it gives me trouble.

I have used it a lot raising 4 kids and agree with most of the reviews posted here. It never leaks as long as you place the gasket between the jar and the metal blades. I am currently reseaching prices because the sealed bearing in the blade assembly has begun to leak grease. I figure it is just a matter of time before the blades freeze up. I prefer to recycle, but hesitate to buy just the part at a cost of $12.99 when I can buy the new unit for a few dollars more. I have had this blender for over 5 years. I bought it when I gave up trying to make margaritas with my old one. It works very well and fast. Having so many settings, you can work it like a finely tuned instrument. I start it on grate, then go to liquify briefly and finish up in blend. The process takes less than 2 minutes. It produces a very fine ice grain. It is also very easy to clean. It also has a lot of power. I would highly recommend it.
