Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Jack Lalanne's JLSS Power Juicer Deluxe Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer

Customer Review: Juices many hard fruits and veggies well but not soft or geens. Cleanup is lousy.
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this juicer to improve my jucing lifestyle and it has done that exactly. I juice more now than I ever did before. I have made many great juice drinks for myself. With no previous juicing experience in juicing, it has served me well.

The pulp that falls into the pulp catcher seems to be to moist. This leads me to believe that it's not getting most of the juice out of the fruits/veggies that I am hoping for. If I put any greens into it, even when I ball it up and follow it with hard veggie pushing down, It seems to get very little green juice. Soft fruits also do not seem to do that well. So there are fruit and veggies I do not put into my juicer.

Another problem I have is that pulp sometime come out the sides of the pulp catcher. And the cleaning up after this is a pain-in-the butt. To be exact, it is lousy. I love juicing so I bear with it.

I am looking for another juicer that will expand the number of fruits and vegetables that I can juice as well as a juicer that will get more juice out. The prices for fruits/veggies has gone up and I want more bang for the buck. I probably will invest in a masticating unit either a sinle auger or double even if they cost more.

This unit has given what I wanted initially, but has outlived it's use and capabilities for me. If you cannot afford a larger unit, this is a good unit as jack Lelanne sez.

Customer Review: Juicer pros and cons
Summary: 3 Stars

This is just my opinion!! My power juicer - what can I say? I am kinda stuck in the middle of the line with my comment.
On the pro side: I had been waiting a long time to purchase my juicer and I was pleased to get it at a cheaper price on Amazon than I had previously seen in several department stores. My item was delivered speedily and with all parts present and in working condition. I have been able to juice strawberries, pears, apples, carrots and ginger. The instructions are short and simple, and when followed, makes disassembling, reassembling and cleanup a breeze; also no problems with the filter leaking into the base of the juicer.
However, on the con side: The consistency of the pulp (strawberries, pears, apples) was kind of mushy/soggy and I was able to eat some of it like apple sauce. It took me over 3 hours to make about 40-50 ounces of juice because I was constantly taking the machine apart to clean it. The pulp of the carrots was still wet when I checked it and I was able to squeeze additional juice out with my hands. Should that be happening[...]
With more exposure to my new toy, i would probably add more stars to the ratings for this product. Until then I think I will just keep juicing and squeezing pulp as needed.

Customer Review: Not the best product.
Summary: 3 Stars

The concept is great of juicing your way to health but the design has alot to be desired. If you're not careful, you will wind up with pulp all over the walls. So not only are you cleaning the juicer but spending extra time cleaning the walls too. The info-mercial raves about how little pulp there is in the collector unit but what they fail to show you is how much also accumulates on the underside of the top piece of the unit. The big selling point was the 3 easy payments. I thought about returning it within the first 30 days but figured since I paid so much for shipping, I might as well keep it and deal with the shortcomings. Juicing is still a good option.

Note: I also have another Braun juicer from 20 years ago or so and it still works great and there's no chance of the pulp hitting the walls on that one. The only thing with this one is that the chute is very small. I will be taking this juicer to the office so I can juice at work.

Customer Review: Disapointed

I have had a Jack Lalanne Juicer for many years. I recently upgraded to the deluxe stainless-steel model believing that the stainless steel would be on the inside where the juice is formed and captured. I was disappointed to find out that the stainles steel was on the outside only. I do not care what the outside finish is, my concern is the material that comes in contact with the juice. .Jack Lalanne's JLSS Power Juicer Deluxe Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer

Customer Review: JLSSPJD
Summary: 3 Stars

I have found the unit to do a good job juicing, but if you are an aggresive juicer; i.e., daily, expect to replace the cutting blades every six months @ $30. You will know when - the unit bogs down when fed vegetables. This unit has a stainless spout, but the juice collection chamber is plastic. It should have been engineered with a stainless juice collection chamber instead of plastic. It is manufactured in China, so who knows what plastic chemicals mix with the juice.
