I wish i would have read the previous review before purchasing this cabinet.
When the box arrived at my house it was poorly packaged, looked like it did not cost the $7 in shipping you have to pay. I took all the pieces out to discover the decorative swirls on the outside of the door had partially broken off, so I had to carefully super glue them back on.
It is VERY frustrating to assemble it, and once you get it put together as mentioned you have to buy and install a new magnetic closure (from a hardware store) otherwise the door will not close. It takes a long time to not only assemble the cabinet but get it working properly.
Once I went to hang it on the wall, I used two screws instead of nails hoping that would hang it more securely on the wall. But the mounts on the back are more like picture hanging mounts, not meant for a 2 foot tall cabinet that need to open and close. Every time I tried to open the door it would fall off the wall. I ended up putting SEVERAL long nails throughout the back of the cabinet to better secure it to the wall.
After it was all said and done I like the cabinet for the most part. As mentioned the mail slots are NOT large enough for any envelopes or mail, we will probably only use the slots for notes and misc items. The two smaller storage areas on the inside that have dowels are not large enough to keep a notepad in, so I tried to put mini sharpies in there, which kept falling out.
So in short, this cabinet is not worth all the time, effort, work and hardware required to make it not only work properly but secure it to the wall. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone, find a better/higher quality cabinet; this one is NOT worth $47!!
