I have a bunch of Henckels 4 star knives. I purchased them in the late 70's. Well never having time to take them anywhere to have them sharpened, I was in desperate need of a sharpener. This thing worked wonders. I tried cutting into a carrot after sharpening each knife and it was effortless. It took a few run throughs the sharpener, but it was so easy to do. I got the Henckel knife sharpener to go with my Henckel blades. . . WOW. . . that steel only goes so far but this knife sharpener brought all of my blades up to a useable cutting quality. . . and while they were not professionally sharp, my boyfriend cut himself thinking that woud still be kinda dull. This product worked better than I thought it would. I was staying at a friends house at Lake tahoe for the month of September and while he had good Henckel knives they were all very dull. I went shopping on amazon.com for knive sharpener and ran across this one that was from Henckel and was only $20.00 or so. I ordered it and it came quickly and works very well. I was first looking for an electric sharpener until I found too many bad stories about removing too much metal, marring the finish, etc. Then, I found this item and my Henckels knives have an almost factory edge again. THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT! I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW SET OF KNIVES, BUT THIS BROUGHT MY OLD ONES BACK TO LIFE. I HAD TO RUN THE KNIVES THROUGH THE SHARPENER MORE TIMES THAN THEY TELL YOU TO, BUT IT WORKED. MY TRUE TEST WAS WHEN I WAS CUTTING TOMATOES AND THE KNIVES SLICED RIGHT THROUGH WITHOUT MAKING MY TOMATOES A MESS. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
