I looked at a lot of knives before choosing this set. This is a reasonably priced, good quality knife set that you can pop into the dishwasher instead of washing them by hand. I thought that any all-stainless knife would be fine for that but found that many of the stainless knives are not recommended for dishwashers as the harsher detergents will leave rust stains. These knives come out spotless. They are nice looking and feel good in your hand--nice weight in the handle. I would have preferred a non-serrated edge but the knives are very sharp and cut cleanly.
