We previously had purchased a different, high-quality brand of steak knives -- but as happens over time, some of them somehow disappeared. These serrated knives were an absolute steal at the price advertised on Amazon.com -- unbelievable in the abstract, and especially compared to its competitors! Plus, the quality is even better than the ones we had, even when new (we've found that serrated knives are sharper, and typically remain sharper over time). Seller was extremely prompt and reliable in shipment. Couldn't have asked for more. (And, by the way, I am not "Sarah Wald, a chemistry student" -- I know no such person). B. Well, gee whiz! All the negative press these under-rated knives are getting! I managed to slice my fingers (DEEP!) spewing blood...just trying to get them out of their packaging! They're plenty sharp alright!I didn't find them at all flimsy, wobbly or thin! On the contrary, I found them to be stable and sturdy with just the right amount of "heft". Makes me wonder WHAT people are trying to saw thru with these knives!
The knife blades are riveted to the wooden handles,the blade edge is serrated for a good sharp cut, and they DO cut very well!
For the price, for everyday use, these knives are a great deal!

No they aren't the same quality as those steak knives that cost $24 each, but for the price they are wonderful. I didn't want to spend a fortune on steak knives because my family abuses them. That's right, we open the mail, slice through cardboard and cut through those impossible nylon bindings. The we wash them and set the table with them too! So when I saw these I snapped them up, hoping they would last a year or two. They're wonderful! Perfectly fine for table wear and do a nice job. A relatively inexpensive steak knife set that can be cleaned in the electric dishwasher. Knives are sufficiently sharp for easy cutting of steaks, chops, raw fruits, and hard cheeses. I have had the knives for a month and am very pleased with the purchase. The product was promptly shipped to me and meets all my expectations.

These knives met all my expectations. I did not want to break the bank for a set of everyday knives. I did not want knives I had to sharpen. These are not the big steak knives, which I find clumsy. They do fine in the dishwasher (I'm not sure what the manufacturer advises -- but they have already been through about 50 washings with no sign of degradation). And they are sharp -- do not test their sharpness when you get them by touching your finger to them -- you may cut it like I did.
