These are the greatest knifes I've found for everyday use. The best part is, their as sharp as the day I bought them!. They never leave my kitchen counter top and always sitting right next to the cutting board . They sit nice and compact and out of the way if needed. I've owned these knifes about 6-7 years now and they look as new as the day I purchased them. I also run them through the dishwasher with all other flatware and have never had a problem with them ever. I have other knife sets that the sharpening stones cost more than this whole set of knifes cost. I would recommend these knifes.
I just love em' for everyday !!.

I have 2 sets of these knives after purchase of this most recent set because they didn't cost an arm and leg! The 1st set I've had for approx. 10 years. They are great! Easy to care for and definitely get the job done. The information that comes with them suggests that you not put them in the dishwasher, but I've always put them in the dishwasher anyway because they weren't expensive and my old ones still look new! I also like them because there are no "exposed" screws in the handles - they look expensive but are very reasonably priced. Great product!

Several years ago, I purchased this set as a housewarming gift for a friend, who raved about them so much that I ended up buying a set for myself. As an impoverished college student at the time, my selection really came down to the price being right. Fortunately, the knives were right, too. I still use these knives every day, 4.5 years later, often mistreating them, with no ill effects. Now that I'm ready to move on to one of the premiere lines, I will hand these down to a younger sibling, as they still have numerous years of use left in them.Customer Review: Affordable and Well-Made Knife Set

I was very happy with the price of this product. Obviously, these aren't knives that you will pass on to your grandchildren, but they are knives that you will use for a number of years before graduating to another knife set. The knives are super sharp, and they look great in the wooden block. They are well made, and they fit nicely in the palm of my hand. I highly recommend them for college students, singles and any other person who wants a well-crafted knife set but doesn't need them to last for the next thirty years.Customer Review: For $40 I'll give it five stars

It's a J.A. Henckels so the warranty is going to be pretty decent, if the materials and craftmanship were overlooked a bit on this particular set. I got this as a gift for my sister a couple of years ago. She's not particular about things and isn't wise to the fact that not one of my Henckel knives cost less than what this whole set cost. Four years later, my sister still likes her set. Says it is holding up well. What more can you ask of a $40 set that comes with a block and a brand name?
