I have used this mincing set for everything from crushing pecans to mincing boiled eggs for salads. The quality of the steel is such that edge retention is superb. By using the the curved twin blades and the concave cutting board together, it makes the above mentioned tasks much easier and alot neater (compared to conventional knives and boards). The unique style and design of the two pieces have made them the focal point of many conversations with friends and family visiting our kitchen. The handle is easy for me to grip and allows a great of control; my wife says that she wishes it had an insulated grip, similar to that of our Henckels 5 Star set (she has arthritis in her hands and wrists). Overall, I feel this set is the best value on the market (quality and price). I am considering ordering 4-5 additional sets as Christmas gifts for people that I know who would use and appreciate them. GJM
Description of J.A. Henckels 2-Piece Mezzaluna Set
Mince fresh herbs, garlic, onions and more using this set. A one-handed rocking motion is all that's needed on your part. The classic, half-moon shape has a 5-in. blade made of high-carbon steel with a satin finish, 18/10 stainless steel handle. It comes with an 8-in. diameter wood bowl, sized to accommodate the curved blade. The mezzaluna is dishwasher-safe; hand-washing is recommended for the bowl..Mince parsley or chop walnuts effortlessly with this board and knife set from cutlery king, Henckels. The curved, double-bladed stainless-steel knife slices and chops as it rocks gently in the bowl of the hardwood cutting board. A two-band brushed-stainless-steel handle gives the super-sharp knife a sure grip and a stylish, contemporary look. Measuring 8 inches square and 1-1/2 inches thick, the wooden board features four rubber feet screwed into the bottom, so it won't slide around on the table or counter.
