I purchased this knife tray for my mother a few years ago, because she used to throw her knives in the drawer. It keeps them protected and neat; and I don't have to worry about her fingers getting sliced. I recently went back to the store I originally bought them at to purchase one for myself, but much to my disappointment they no longer carry it. This works really well. We recently purchased a new home and found while putting our kitchen together there was no place to put our large knives, we did not have a knife block and prefer to have them in a drawer. The drawers in our previous home came equipped with built-ins. Found this one online and purchased it, works great. This gadget is a must for anyone who wants to keep their expensive knives protected and out of the way. I have replaced my knife block for this and store them conveniently in a kitchen drawer. The tray is very attactive and carries the Henckels reputation for quality. Make sure you check the measurements so that you can be certain it will fit in your kitchen drawer. Slowly but surely, counterspace diminishes over the years. I gladly gave up the free big block that came with my knives for this perfect knife tray. I measured and knew that two would fit perfectly in the drawer next to where I do all my chopping. It looks beautiful and very solid. I did compare with other trays, but this holds more knives than others and it was well worth it.
