Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Ironwood Gourmet Acacia Wood Pizza PeelCustomer Review: Not only the prettiest pizza peel we've owned, it functions perfectly to take pizza or dough from counter to stove or grill Summary: 5 Stars
We love doing pizza and breads in the oven and on the grill but it's not easy to transfer a pizza to a hot pizza stone without a peel. Wood peels always work better than metal ones and I just prefer them personally. But I hadn't had one that was both pretty and very functional as well before now.
Simply dust with some cornmeal and your pizza will slide ride off either onto a pizza stone or to an oven rack. Putting your pizza stone on your grill will give it true brick oven taste and the amazing grill flavor and this makes it simple to remove from the pizza stone in the grill.
But even if you never grill or make your own dough, you'll remove a whole pie--even if it's store bought--from your oven easily.
In addition to that, it's pretty enough to serve things on at a party if desired.
Customer Review: Worth every penny Summary: 5 Stars
This pizza peel is great. I had been looking at other peels and they were thin and flimsy with no aesthetic appeal. I saw this product on Amazon and decided to give it a try.
WOW, it is pretty. The wood surface is a hard fine grain, smooth and not obviously porous like other peels. Functionally, it is a real step above other peels. The taper at the end may not be as paper thin as others (and therefore not plagued with splitting) but it works just fine to scoop up the dough and place it on the stone. The peel is light weight and the handle is sturdy. So, if you need two hands to load dough and remove the baked product there is no problem with stability.
The quality of this pizza peel is definately worth the wait for shipping.
Customer Review: Great Value and Better then a cutting board Summary: 5 Stars
The Peel is a good looking piece that fits in perfectly to our kitchen. Great product and, although I had my doubts, works exactly as advertised. Add a little corn meal or flour to the peel, add your rolled dough, and add toppings. The uncooked pizza slides right off onto the stone and also makes it super easy to get the pizza back off the stone.
If you are on the fence about buying this, get off and pickup your credit card!
Customer Review: Works great and looks good, too. Summary: 5 Stars
OK, there's not a lot of difference between pizza peels in general. This one works as well as any other. The difference is, this one LOOKS great, too. We actually have it hanging on the wall in our kitchen as decoration when not in use. It's been a low-maintenance item so far; I just lightly oil it about twice a year. No splitting seams or discoloration. Works great, looks great, can't miss!
Customer Review: Beautiful and functional Summary: 5 Stars
We have been on a pizza kick lately and I got tired of finding ways to get my pizza's from the counter to the stone. This peel is not only gorgeous to look at but it works too.
Make sure to put cornmeal on the peel and don't make your pizza on it too far in advance of putting it in the oven. Other than that it will slide off just fine.
