I was reluctant to buy this because of the cost. I am used to the whole idea of you get what you pay for, but I figured for $40 if it sucked I wouldn't be out that much.
Its a very simple products to use - and it works GREAT! I am addicted to starbucks so going there every day - sometimes twice a day - was buring a hole in my pocket. So instead I went and bought the same coffee that Starbucks uses for their lattes and tried out this little machine. It has worked WONDERFULLY! The steam that comes out to froth the milk is very strong and the piece that dips into the milk itself, comes off and is easy to clean. Its a very simple machine to operate, nothing really that complex about it. I have had it for about a week and used it about 10 times so far.
Of course the taste is not COMPLETELY the same as starbucks - but I would say its about 92% of the same. The way that the economy is going, its good enough for me. I received a Krups one as a gift about 6 years ago, and to my dismay the frother stopped working after the third time I used it - I think its because it did not come off and was very difficult to clean. After a while I just gave it to goodwill. I was afraid this would happen with this one too - but since you can easily clean the frother, I think this one will be fine.
Anyway - great value - I am really impressed by the quality of the expresso this machine creates considering the costs. I would highly recommend it to anyone!
