Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Coffeeduck Classic: Permanent Refillable Coffee Filter for the Senseo models HD7810-HD7812Customer Review: WORKS GREAT IF USED PROPERLY Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product. I first ordered the PerfectPod Coffee Pod Maker and was happy with product. But, Filters ran out quickly, had to order more and what an expense! Learned my lesson and got this product instead. Works perfectly. I use a 16 ounce mug and get great coffee. Fills the cup almost to the top after adding a creamer. I am going to download a pic above. Best tips are: don't get ANY coffee grinds on the rim of the duck, and if you want a stronger cup, I tap the coffeeduck lightly on my countertop to get as much coffe in as possible. Make sure the black top is on so that it is laying flat. If any water does start dripping out of the area where it is not supposed to I press down on the top of the Senseo Coffee Maker for a few seconds and it stops. BTW, I paid $24.99 for it and it has come down in price, lucky you!
Customer Review: Wow, The only way to go with no mess!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have read several reviews before buying this refilable "pod". Some were messy, some looked like a pain to clean... Yes it's probably the most expensive one out there, but boy, is it worth it!!! Yes, yes and yes! Now I can use my favorite German coffee (Jacobs, Kronung) in my Senseo, they don't sell their pods in the usa yet.
It is also very easy to use: put in you senseo, put a tbl spoon of coffee, put the lid on, close the senseo and..... brew! Then just rinse it off in the sink and you're ready for a new cup :O)
It is true that I only get 3/4 of a mug full with this device, but it doesn't bother me because I had some creamer and my cup is full!
To sum up:
- easy to use
- easy to clean
- use any of your favorite coffee
- saves tons of money in pods
- No mess!
Customer Review: Replaced our Broken $600 Saeco Magic Deluxe with this Summary: 5 Stars
Ok - this will never really make as good a cup as a Saeco super automatic but,, for a $500 savings I can certainly live with it.
When the Senseo eventually dies, I can just go to the thrift store and get another one for $10...
We also own a Bialetti Brikka pot for later in the day when I want a (really, really) good cup with "Crema". Check the reviews here on Amazon.
PROS:
1. If you are reasonably careful filling your Duck, no leaks or spills will occur.
2. Play around with different amount of coffee/cup size setting combos, and you can get a pretty good flavor to suit your style.
3. Hit the switch and enjoy the savings....
Cons: None
Customer Review: Works great in the Senseo Summary: 5 Stars
I've been making my own pods for the last several years using the Perfect Pod system. I tend to go through a lot of pods, and they are a bit more pricey than I'd like. So I thought I would try one of these coffee ducks to use at home and save the pods for my Senseo machine at work. The duck works great and cleans up easily (although it is a lot messier to clean than simply throwing out a pod). Others have commented on leaking, but the duck leaks no more than a pod does with just a dribble or two coming down the snout at the start, but that falls right into the cup anyway--but the pods do the same thing. Like the prefect pod, I choose my coffee which is the only way to go! I would buy the duck again, and enjoy using it.
Customer Review: Great addition Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using this for over 1 month now. It has been a great addition to the Senseo. The first time I used it I had problems, but now it works great. I can adjust the strength of the coffee, and it is a lot cheaper than using pods. The only thing that I miss about the pods is the cleanup. Yes, the cleanup is a little messier than using pods, but a price I'm willing to pay. The first time that I used it I got coffee grounds and coffee all over the counter. This was due to the fact that all of the water doesn't get out of the holder like it does when using the pod system. Like I said, a small inconvenience. True, I get very little crema on my coffee, but to me, that is not important. I highly recommend this!!
