I just received the Honeywell HCM-630 a few days ago. It was On Sale for $43.21... an awesome deal! I can't believe how fast the shipping was...not even 3 days... and best of all it was Free Super Saver Shipping...
It works better than expected. My Sweetheart has chronic sinus problems... she needed it... I did some quick reviews... and ordered it late at night. We live in a small trailer with forced air heat... very dry... This contraption does a great job of keeping the main living area in the Comfort Zone... as per the little hygrometer we purchased separately...
It's very quiet... not that we care about that very much... but it is... We don't have to crank up the humidity adjustment for it to do a good job for our space. The specifications state that it's suitable for a medium/large room... Check! ...it is. We have to fill the tank a little more often than we like to... but that's OK given the job it does.
It's easy to use... mindless really...
The Filter is about $10 bucks or so... but it's very large and it looks like a very good one... it's not some cheap, foamy, furry thing... with regular rinsing, cleaning, etc... it'll probably last awhile.
Highly Recommended.

The humidifier does a good job keeping my 700sqft apartment humidified. I have to refill the 3 gallon tank once in the morning and once at night. I bought it for my pet tortoise who needs higher humidity, but it has really helped my sinus problems and dry skin problems. The tortoise's dry skin has cleared up nicely, also.
I have NO trouble removing or inserting the tank. It is very easy and fits securely into the base. NO leaks. It must have been redesigned from the previous complaints. There are pegs on the bottom of the tank that fit into the base so you know you have placed it correctly.
I use filtered water and have not had the problem with white dust.
You will not see water vapor with this humidifier. If you let it run for the day while you are at work, you can feel the difference in the air when you walk into the room.
The fan noise did not bother me. It was a quiet soothing white noise sound. If you are a picky sleeper and can't tolerate new sounds then you will probably be unhappy with *any* fan driven appliance. The humidifier does not make any excess fan noise and runs smoothly.

This is by far the best humidifier I've ever purchased - I'm surprised it's gotten so many bad reviews. It puts a whole heckuva lot of moisture into the air - you can really feel the difference in the room. We live in an extremely dry apartment, so I really needed something that worked well. It also never never leaks - a problem I've had with many humidifiers. We have it sitting directly on a piece of wooden furniture with no harm done.
I don't find the tank design particularly cumbersome. Perhaps it isn't the BEST design, but I've never come even close to dropping it and I have no problem getting it to balance sufficiently as I fill it.
The filters need replacing somewhat frequently, but so have the filters for all other machines I've used - this one is no worse.
The only complaint I think is valid is that it IS a little loud on the high setting. I prefer this, myself, as I like white noise while I sleep. Also, the breeze from it is pretty cool, which I also like. If you don't like the breeze, it should be easy to aim away from you.

I have been running this unit at night, and haven't had any problems. It has done a great job at putting moisture in the air (my sinuses & I are thankful). I have not had any problems with filling the tank from my kitchen faucet. I have another filter on order so it is on hand when the time comes to replace the original. Since I am not running this all day, constant refilling is not a problem either. To extend the filter life, I may try distilled water, as suggested in the owner's manual. The filter I have on order is the one with the blue, many reviewers suggested it over the one that comes with the unit. This humidifier runs quietly, even when on full blast. The invisible mist sure beats the old humidifiers from when I was a kid! Great price, free shipping, I have no complaints so far!Customer Review: Great Machine

This humidifier is very effective and it does a good job making the heated air in our bedroom breathable without injuring or drying out our skin and respiratory system. It is quiet and easy to operate has all the features you need. It has a detachable tank for water filling which is convenient. The only issue that the tank does not fit under the bathroom sink's faucet so I fill it form the bathtub's. The tank is awkward to handle while filling and it gets heavy when full. All in all I am very satisfied with it after using it for 4 nights and I would highly recommend it over my old Honeywell and Hunter.
