Customer Review: 480w power consumption on high setting

I'll comment on the power consumption of this unit since I wasn't able to find information about it before purchasing. It's not on the box, and not in the printed manual either. Guess they really make an effort to hide it. On the back of the unit, it say 4.4 amp.
On high setting (default when you turn it on), it consumes about 480 watts of power. On medium setting it consumes about 360 watts. On low setting, it consumes about 230 watts. 230 watts is not bad but 480 watts overnight or 24x7 is a lot.
It is slightly louder than I had hoped. But I guess anything that boils water can't be that quiet anyway. On low setting I can fall sleep at night, but I can imagine it may bother some people.
The unit is designed really well. I can pretty much take everything apart and wash and clean it. The pieces seem really modular and fit together nicely, and should last quite a while if well cared for.

Honeywell created their Quick Steam Warm Moisture Humidifier for all of these purposes and more, enhancing a room's humidity in record speed.
Best suited for rooms up to 1400 square feet in size, the humidifier's heater is crafted in stainless steel for quick heat production and trouble-free cleaning. The compact humidifier outputs 4 gallons of warm steam for each full tank of water. This humidifier offers users a timer function for running the unit for preset periods, ranging from an hour to the maximum 18-hour setting. Digital controls and the easy-to-read LCD screen enable users to alter or monitor current preference settings. A medicine cup allows users to run the humidifier as a vaporizer for stuffed noses, sore throats and other respiratory illnesses. An automatic shutdown feature reduces safety hazards. Humidifier water should be changed frequently and the tank washed well each week to prevent bacteria, mold, and other impurities from developing, though the heating process should kill many of these unhealthy particles.
