I bought this fan for the remote advantage. Do not expect the remote to work just because you push a button. You will have to WORK at pointing the remote at the fan and catching the fan in JUST the right position for this remote to work. Each button on the remote is used for more than one function so it will take a moment (not a second or two) to get the fan set like you want. My husband had no interest in trying to master the
movements needed to use the remote and my aging mother would never be able to
make use of this remote because of arthritis in her hands.
